We bring STEM directly to rural communities through free workshops, conferences, summer camps, and student showcases. Here’s where you’ll find us next.
Event 1: DesignSTEM Program
In May of 2026, PrimeSTEM had the privilege of designing and teaching our STEM activities to 625 students and 30 teachers at the virtual DesignSTEM conference, hosted by Purdue University’s Catalyst Center. Our lessons covered electronic circuits, microelectronics, Micro:bits, and block coding. Students engaged in hands-on activities and learned about the Engineering Design Process across 2 full days and 4 sessions. We are so proud to have impacted so many students and teachers from rural schools in Indiana. Some school corporations that we worked with were Lewis Cass, South Montgomery, Eastern Howard, Pioneer, Benton, Maconaquah, North White, Clinton Central, Tipton, Victory Christian Academy, Delphi, and Tri-County. You can find our lesson plans and presentation slides for the event in the Resources tab of our website!

Event 2: INSPIRE/SCALE K-12 Summer Programs
PrimeSTEM’s second signature event involves a long term collaboration with the INSPIRE/SCALE K-12 program at Purdue University, led by Dr. Morgan Hynes. Ediz has been designing and teaching activities at the INSPIRE summer camps since the summer of 2024. This summer, PrimeSTEM’s founder Ediz will be impacting another 60+ K-12 students from rural areas at the summer camp. The main focus of Ediz’s activities are using Micro:bits for math and programming related challenges.
June 2026: During the week of June 1st to June 5th, Ediz volunteered as an instructor and counselor at the INSPIRE summer STEM camp for 6 to 8 year old kids, most of whom were from rural areas. Throughout the course of five 8-hour days, Ediz’s STEM activities involved programming robots using Micro:bits and using Artificial Intelligence with Micro:bits to create interactive games. In addition, he also taught lessons involving circuits and electricity.

Event 3: Freedom School Summer Program
Many thanks to Dr. Breanya Hogue for allowing Ediz to teach at the Freedom School program in West Lafayette. Students will engage in hands-on STEM activities. “The mission of the CDF Freedom School Program at First Church is to expand the work and legacy of the CDF Freedom Schools program to empower communities and develop future leaders by promoting literacy civic engagement”
